Go buy some art!
This is my very wonky, very imperfect gallery wall but it makes me happy. Most, if not all the frames, are from friends, neighbors and relatives giving them away with the notable exception being the fancy brass one for #16 (which is the Weston Frame from Pottery Barn but might only be available in bronze now).
These are numbered from newest to oldest:
01: Vibrant floral watercolor by Sarah Black. I ADORE the vibrant colors and details. She’s making ornaments for the holidays too.
02: Nessie embroidery. I made this by taking one of our Scotland photos and printing it out on Spoonflower Petal Signature Cotton fat quarter (size: 21 x 18 in) then taking a shot at embroidering a tiny Nessie. Detail below because I love it so.
03: Don’t Peak in High School wool pennant. Made this one as well. I bought the Corinne Lapierre Limited Wool Blend Felt Bundle in Vintage from Snuggly Monkey which are both small businesses and then fought with my cricut to cut the letters out (which it half did but at least I had guide lines from it to do the rest) before finally hand sewing them on. I may go add some shadow embroidery so the “high school” lettering pops more.
04: “First Snow” mixed media collage by Jordan Kim. My husband went on a trip to Portland and saw this while he was walking around so I’m not sure what store but it looks like you can buy their stuff online too.
05: Self portrait by my daughter.
06: “Cockburn Street” by Modge (who has tons of amazing prints). I bought this and the following one at Red Door Gallery in Edinburgh where I could have spent a billion pounds.
07: “Stonechat” by F. Hamilton. Anyone who knows me, knows I have an uneasy relationship regarding birds but this guy was so cute.
08: “In the Middle of the Old Forest” by KinkoWhiteArt. I forgot the house had Baba Yaga feet until I was looking it up.
09: “Married to the Sea” by Clare Elsaesser. The colors are so dramatic and the movement. Oooh it’s so so good.
10: “Pirate Penelope Liked Her Seas Calm And Her Crew Colourful” by Janet Hill. The hardest part of this wall was deciding which Janet Hill pieces to include. Seeing this makes me think I may need more in my office…
11: “Miss Moon Was A Dog Governess. Lesson Six” by Janet Hill. Stop. It’s too fucking wonderful. The illustrations, the titles. My god, the titles.
12: “Rainbow Reflection 1” by DURIDO. We bought ours through Buy Olympia but it looks like they have their own site too. Possibly it’s also half of a set… that’s dangerous knowledge when this is already boxed in.
13: “I Will Do My Best” by Hiller Goodspeed. I went on a Hiller Goodspeed spree a couple of years ago so we have postcards framed and tucked away all across the house.
14: “There’s A Ghost in the Portrait Gallery” by Katherine Blower. Portraits of portraits!
15: “Herbarium” by Iz Ptica. Though I do still like this one, I feel like it’s now more suited for my office.
16: Countess Bailey. This was our first dog, who is sadly no longer with us, but watches over the house in this Crown and Paw portrait. We did have some issues with printing so check it carefully when you get it.

Bonus from staircase: Competitors by Jakub Rozalski. Maybe that goes on the top half of where Herbarium was and something new goes below it… Hmmm…
And, as promised, a close up of Nessie.
